Legionella water sampling adds another layer of legionella risk management which follows the industry recommendations and approved codes of practice (ACoP). We take samples in accordance with AcOP L8 & BS 7592:2008 or Sampling for Legionella bacteria in water systems.
Aside from testing for legionella, as our standard, we also sample the water for other potentially harmful bacteria including E.Coli and Psuedomonas. We determine the Total Viable Counts or TVCs of water-based bacterium. This completes our services and gives clients more peace of mind.
We receive the samples in our labs the same day sampling is conducted. We have all our samples analysed in laboratories accredited by the United Kingdom Accreditation Service. The results of our testing are reported with a full technical backup and a list of actionable recommendations.
Legionella water sampling is mainly done to ensure the safety of occupants in premises. The results of these tests will inform possible preventive steps in the future.
In the case of legionella, the Health & Safety Executive recommends that regular water sampling should be conducted to make sure the bacteria doesn’t exceed acceptable levels. The recommendation also helps properties to achieve adequate control over the water system.
There are several factors that affect the frequency of testing.
