A fire door is not just a door. It is a tested, certified assembly of components, including the leaf, frame, intumescent strips, smoke seals, hinges and self-closing devices, all working together to resist fire for a specified period. A standard FD30 door is designed to hold back fire for 30 minutes, while an FD60 provides 60 minutes of protection.

Installation: We supply and install third-party certified fire doorsets to BS 8214 standards. Every installation is carried out by our directly employed, industry-trained engineers. We do not sub-contract this work.
Inspection and Assessment: Our qualified fire door inspectors carry out detailed condition surveys in line with BS 8214 and the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005. Each door is assessed for correct certification, physical condition, hardware function, gap tolerances and signage. You receive a full written report within 48 hours, including photographs and prioritised recommendations for any remedial action required.
Remedial Works: Where issues are identified during inspection, we can carry out remedial work promptly to bring your fire doors back to a compliant standard. This includes replacing damaged seals, adjusting closers, fitting correct signage and, where necessary, replacing entire doorsets.
Under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, the Responsible Person for a commercial premises must ensure that fire safety measures, including fire doors, are properly installed, regularly inspected and correctly maintained. Failure to comply can result in enforcement action, significant fines and, in serious cases, criminal prosecution.
BS 9999:2017 recommends that fire doors in commercial buildings are inspected at regular intervals, with more frequent checks in high-traffic or high-risk areas.
