Fire doors are one of the most important elements of passive fire protection in any commercial building. When properly installed and maintained, they buy critical time during a fire by containing flames and smoke within a single compartment, protecting escape routes and giving occupants the time they need to evacuate safely.
At Cleanair UK, we provide professional fire door installation and inspection services to businesses, landlords, facilities managers and building owners across Yorkshire. Whether you manage a single premises or oversee a portfolio of commercial properties, our directly employed, industry-trained team will ensure your fire doors are fully compliant and fit for purpose.
A fire door is only effective if it has been correctly installed and is regularly inspected. Over time, doors can become damaged, seals can degrade, self-closing mechanisms can fail, and gaps around frames can widen beyond acceptable tolerances. Any one of these issues can compromise the integrity of the door and, by extension, your entire fire compartmentation strategy.
Under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, the responsible person for a premises has a legal duty to ensure that fire safety measures, including fire doors, are properly installed and maintained. British Standard BS 8214 provides detailed guidance on the installation, maintenance and inspection of fire doors, and non-compliance can result in enforcement action, significant fines, or worse.
Installation: We supply and install certified fire doorsets to the required specification for your building. Every installation is carried out by our own trained operatives, never subcontracted, ensuring consistent quality and full accountability from start to finish.
Inspection and Assessment: Our qualified fire door inspectors carry out detailed assessments of your existing fire doors, checking for correct certification, gaps and seals, signage, glazing integrity, hinges, closers and overall condition. You receive a clear, honest report that identifies any doors requiring remedial attention, along with practical recommendations.
Remedial Works: Where issues are found, we carry out the necessary remedial works to bring your fire doors back to a compliant standard. This may include replacing intumescent strips and smoke seals, adjusting closers, repairing damage to door leaves, or in some cases, full door replacement.
We are a multi-disciplinary hygiene and compliance services contractor with years of experience supporting commercial clients across the UK. Fire door installation and inspection sits within our wider passive fire protection offering, which means we understand how fire doors work as part of a building’s complete fire strategy, not in isolation.
Our approach is straightforward. We assess what you have, tell you what needs attention, carry out the work to the highest standard, and provide the documentation you need to demonstrate compliance. No unnecessary upselling, no overcomplicated reports, just clear, competent service from people who know the regulations inside out.

Looking for companies for the cleaning and servicing of my kitchen canopy and ducts I found, via Google, overpriced local traders. I am so glad I looked on the BESA website and came across Clean Air Ltd. The lads you sent round were polite and did a good job. I was so confident in your pricing and work I recommended Clean Air to my church for their kitchen work. God Bless you all.
We got VIP treatment as a local business – all queries were answered professionally and the work itself was fast and clean – no mess left on site. A refreshing attitude! Thanks to the team!
Have used Cleanair before to do our kitchen deep clean and were very impressed with their work so asked them to replace our duct for the kitchen extraction. Arrived on time, done the work quickly and efficiently which allowed our kitchen team to carry on with their prep work. I highly recommend them.
A huge thank you to the staff at CleanAir UK who have done the most fantastic job cleaning our kitchen this year. They were prompt, polite, helpful, friendly and amazingly efficient. The kitchen is sparkling and we are thrilled with the results. We will definitely be asking them back next year…
