Kitchen Extract Grease Filters

We supply a variety of mesh and baffle grease filters for your commercial kitchen extract canopy. Even if your canopy or hood does not support standard size grease filters, mesh grease filters can be manufactured to any size required, as can baffle grease filters as long as the filter housing within the canopy is no less than 45mm deep. Most standard sizes are generally available from stock for next day delivery if ordered before 2pm.

Mesh Grease Filters

Mesh grease filters are used on those kitchen extract systems where functionality and an economical approach are paramount. They are also the best option where cooking frequencies are short and where the subsequent grease load is relatively low. Grease is collected in the wire mesh media and with regular cleaning (at least weekly) will last for many years.

The kitchen extract canopy mesh grease filter consists of a rigid aluminium frame, with a knitted wire mesh filter pad, which is graded for maximum grease retention and weldmesh facings to both sides. Handles are fitted as standard to the shortest dimension.

Baffle Grease Filters

Baffle grease filters for commercial kitchen extract systems work very differently to the mesh grease filter. Rather than trapping the grease within the filter medium, flame barrier baffle filters, work by forcing the grease laden air through several changes of direction as it passes through the grease filter. The grease droplets are unable to change direction as quickly as the air in which they are carried, therefore becoming separated from the air and deposited on the baffle filter blades. The grease then drains into the drip trays. This method of grease filtration removes any potential risk of the spread of fire, should a fire occur on the cooking surface below. Without grease build up in the baffle filter, there is no increase in operating resistance, allowing a constant airflow to be maintained and significantly reducing energy consumption.
